Frequently Asked Questions
What does a private RN healthcare liaison and patient advocate do?
I help families understand what is happening medically, organize their questions, communicate clearly with doctors, nurses, case managers and facilities, and make informed decisions about next steps. Think of me as an experienced, clinically informed guide on your side.
Is this the same as home-health nursing or a caregiver?
No. I don't provide routine bedside care or home-health staffing. My role is advocacy, coordination and guidance, helping you get the right care and understand it.
When should a family call?
Common times are a sudden hospitalization, a confusing diagnosis, an upcoming discharge or move to a rehab or skilled nursing facility, conflicting information from different providers, a loved one struggling with addiction alongside medical issues, or difficult end-of-life decisions. If you're unsure, call. A short conversation will tell us both whether I can help.
Can you attend hospital meetings and care conferences?
Yes. I can help you prepare for care conferences and discharge planning meetings, and support you during them, so the right questions get asked and the plan is clear.
Do you replace my loved one's doctors?
No. I work alongside the medical team. I don't diagnose or prescribe; I help you understand the care plan and make sure communication between everyone involved stays clear.
Do you still help with addiction and interventions?
Yes. As a Certified Addiction Registered Nurse and Nationally Certified Intervention Professional, I support families facing addiction, intervention and recovery-related concerns, especially where substance use intersects with medical care.
Is this covered by insurance?
This is private-pay support and is typically not covered by insurance. We'll talk through fees during your consultation.
What areas do you serve?
I serve families in Orange County and nearby Southern California communities.
